Frame Compatibility Guide
The RENEW Split uses Zero Clearance technology, meaning each half of the base sits flat — no legs required when placed on a platform or inside a frame. Use the checklist below before ordering to make sure your existing frame is a fit.

✅ Internal Dimensions Required
  • Minimum internal width KING: 184 cm (to fit both halves side by side, each half is approx. 92 cm wide)
  • Minimum internal width CALI KING 2150 cm (to fit both halves side by side, each half is approx. 107 cm wide)
  • Minimum internal length: 204 cm
  • Measure your frame's inside rails — not the outer footprint. Slatted or solid panel bases must be removed or the base must sit on top.

✅ Frame Sturdiness Requirements
  • Frame must support the combined weight of two motorised base units plus mattresses (typically 80–120 kg total base weight).
  • Side rails must be rigid — flex or bow under load will cause the base to rock and can generate noise or even worse break .
  • Centre support legs or a centre rail are strongly recommended for King frames to prevent rail deflection.

✅ Clearance Checks
  • Zero Clearance mode (no legs): The base sits directly on the floor inside the frame. Frame rail height must be at least 15 cm (standard rail depth) to contain the base securely.
  • With supplied legs: Medium legs add approx. 15 cm to base height; high legs add approx. 26 cm. Confirm your frame depth can accommodate the chosen leg height, or remove the legs and use Zero Clearance mode.
  • Ensure no cross-slats, support bars, or internal brackets fall within the 184 × 204 cm / 2150 x 204cm  footprint — these will obstruct the base and prevent flat positioning.

✅ Supplied Leg Options
  • Medium legs — suitable for most bed-height preferences; recommended when using without a frame.
  • High legs — for a taller base height or easier access; also included with purchase.
  • No legs required when placing inside a frame (Zero Clearance mode).

❌ Incompatible Frame Types
  • Frames with fixed internal cross-bars or integral slat systems that cannot be removed — these prevent the base from lying flat.
  • Frames with internal width under 184 King /2150 Cali King — the two halves will not fit side by side.
  • Lightweight or flat-pack frames (e.g. basic metal snap-together frames) — insufficient rigidity causes movement noise and potential instability under motorised articulation.
  • Frames with integrated footboards that restrict base travel — the foot-end articulation needs clear upward movement; any fixed obstruction below the mattress level at the foot end will impede operation.
  • Non-King frames — this is a King Split base and is sized for a standard King (183 × 203 cm) mattress footprint only.
  • 5 stars: 2 (100%)

After three nights - Zzzzzz

Excellent.

Product fulfills all purchase requirements. Product quality and operation is consistent with A. H. Beard's excellent brand name reputation.

After three nights - sleeping experience on the medium/firm mattresses have been closer to firm than medium. However, we expect that will tip back towards medium with use.

The need to purchase an adjustable bed has been achieved. The remotes are easy to operate and raising my back rest around 20 degrees provided a comfortable elevated sleeping position without disturbing my wife.

Whilst the Kangaroo Paw base price was in the "your kidding" range, my wife is pleased to have retained the under mattress out of season blankets storage capacity of our previous bed.

However: The delivery date become a "don't hold your breath, expect the unexpected issue", the latter occurring. Why? A lack of communication from Beards to both the customer and Knapp Beds. Advised delivery date and time became a no show, and no message on the day to tell us the delivery had been cancelled.

Issue was only resolved by Bridget Bremner at Knapp Beds. The bed being delivered without notice by Beards to our Canberra address two days later. Luckily, we were only five minutes from home when we received a phone call advising there was a truck in our driveway.

Whilst the delivery date was a fiasco; the Beard installer was all class. Polite, respectful and skilled in assembling the bed and the electrical connections.

We were also pleased when he informed us our old bed would be taken back to the Beard warehouse where it would assessed and if suitable, donated to a charity.

Bottom line. Even if the journey had a few hiccups, all's well that ends well.

How can an Adjustable Bed help me?

Feet Only

Easily reduce the pressure on your back by distributing weight more evenly when you find the perfect posture. For many people, slightly elevating their feet reduces lower back strain, by allowing the lumbar area to fully relax and decompress.

Zero Gravity

Resting in this position will alleviate strain on your legs and lower back. Wake up feeling rested and ready to conquer the day.

Head Only

Elevating your head enables the air to flow more freely and reduces the vibrations that we know as snoring. When you snore due to congestion, elevation can also be helpful for supporting drainage and keeping sinuses clear.

Quiet Sleep

By sleeping with your head and body partially elevated, you’re allowing gravity to work it’s magic by hindering the contents of your stomach from leaking into your esophagus, causing heartburn.
